Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake)

Our Customer is US-based startup developing an innovative platform for agricultural insurance and finance. The core of the platform is a data management solution which should integrate and harmonize data from several data sources, as well as build the basis for risk modeling.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with knowledge of the Snowflake platform. The qualified candidate will work closely with Solution Architect and distributed team on HBM and Customer’s side.  

In addition to the mentioned project, there will also be opportunities to participate in other projects, ranging from startups to large enterprises. These projects may involve different technologies such as MS Fabric, Snowflake, or Databricks. Therefore, a willingness to work with diverse platforms is highly valued.

• Develop from scratch a DWH model based on Snowflake

• Together with Solution Architect, create a technical vision of the solution

• Integrate and harmonize data from 7+ data sources

• Implement iterative data ingestions and develop data pipelines

• Cooperate closely with Data Scientist/ML Engineer on enabling data for agriculture risk modeling

• Degree (bachelor or master) in computer science or a comparable course of study

• 5+ years in data-related roles

• Experience with database management and deep understanding of relational databases

• Experience with Snowflake

• Proficiency with SQL and Python

• Expertise in ETL processes and data pipelines

• Familiarity with data processing techniques and tools, ability to automate tasks and write scripts for data processing

• Knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)

• Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate to stakeholders on multiple levels  

• English: upper-intermediate / advanced
