Senior Test Engineer

Our customer provides tourist services in Iceland through several brand websites, all integrated with a CMS and booking systems. They are now rolling out a new web strategy to unify the technology stack across all channels, migrate to modern solutions, and retire legacy components. The new platform will be built with Next.js, TypeScript, Vercel, Sanity CMS, Algolia, and Sokoni as the primary booking system.

We’re looking for a Senior Test Engineer with experience of establishing test processes from scratch and desire to drive QA activities in the project.

You’ll be joining an ambitious, technically challenging project built on a modern stack - ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to help shape a product from day one.

• Be main responsible for testing within the project

• Design Test Strategy for the new solution and build test process within the project from scratch

• Evaluate and select test tools

• Estimate and plan test activities

• Perform ongoing manual functional testing (web apps, APIs, integrations)

• Perform bug tracking and reporting

• Prepare documentation and present progress reports to stakeholders 

• Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation

• Work closely with Technical Owner and distributed engineering team in an Agile dynamic

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field

• 6+ years of experience within Software Testing

• Experience of doing overall QA & Testing on a project 

• Experience with web applications testing (both backend and front-end) 

• Hands-on experience with API testing

• Good knowledge of SQL

• Experience of testing integrations with 3^rd party systems (CMS, booking, payment)

• Deep understanding of core testing processes and QA practices

• Experience in test planning and estimation

• Experience of preparing Test Summary reports for stakeholders

• Knowledge of bug tracking tool(s) and process, ability to setup proper workflows  

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clarify product requirements and clearly articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Previous experience in a distributed, cross-cultural agile/lean team

• English proficiency at an upper-intermediate level
