Our customer is an Icelandic energy company providing electricity, geothermal water, cold water, carbon storage and optic network.  

We are looking for a Senior DevOps who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure, tooling, and automation that support the company’s enterprise platforms. The engineer will work across cloud and on-premise environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and secure delivery pipelines for development and production workloads. 

The role involves hands-on work with GitHub, GitHub Actions, Azure, AWS, and traditional on-premise infrastructure. Close collaboration with the onsite technical leadership and development teams is expected to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. 

Tech stack: GitHub, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Terraform, Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, CI/CD tooling, hybrid cloud & on‑prem integration.

• Contribute to infrastructure and platform level technical discussions & implementation

• Design and support hybrid cloud architectures (Azure, AWS) and remotely accessed on prem components

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, and support the migration from Azure DevOps pipelines

• Modernize existing pipelines, automate deployments, and improve operational workflows

• Collaborate with development and security teams to ensure stable and efficient delivery processes

• Drive continuous improvements across cloud, DevOps, and platform engineering practices

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or system administration

• Solid experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions (workflow automation, pipeline design)

• Strong expertise in Azure and AWS, with deep knowledge of at least one and practical experience with the other

• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines in enterprise environments

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation etc.) and Platform-as-Code

• Experience working with on-premise infrastructure and hybrid cloud models

• Proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, including modernization or migration of existing pipelines

• Experience with enterprise monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch)

• Experience with Kubernetes and understanding of virtualization concepts

• Understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and cloud/onprem integration patterns

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• English: Upper Intermediate or Advanced
