Tiny Minds Lab is a Sweden-based EdTech company behind Tinky, a digital platform designed to streamline early childhood education. The product helps preschool teachers plan their day, track child development, and stay connected with parents, all while easing administrative load and keeping operations aligned with national education standards.
In 2025, the founders brought HBM on board as a strategic technology partner to accelerate product development and prepare the platform for scale. The engagement covered two parallel tracks: modernizing the existing Teachers App and building a brand-new mobile Parents App from the ground up.
The goal was a connected ecosystem that supports educators day-to-day, gives families real visibility into their children's experience, and creates a foundation Tinky can grow on for years.
"From day one, HBM has been responsive, flexible, and consistently ahead of our expectations on delivery and problem-solving. Together, we've built a team with strong technical depth and excellent communication — something that gives us, as a startup with big ambitions, a real sense of security. We're looking forward to continuing this journey with the people behind the machines."

Founders, Tiny Minds Lab
Tiny Minds Lab aimed to accelerate the development and enhancement of its educational platform to meet growing demand from preschools.
The company needed a reliable, high-performing tech team capable of improving an existing product and developing a new one simultaneously.
The key challenges included:

We treated Tinky as a long-term product. That meant grounding every decision in scalability and operational fit before writing a single line of code.
Designed the architecture for the new Parents App and mapped a technical evolution path for the Teachers App, ensuring both could grow without rework.
Built interfaces tailored to each user group, which are quick and frictionless for busy teachers, clear and reassuring for parents.
Upgraded the Teachers App with new functionality and tighter integration, and built the Parents App from scratch with real-time messaging, attendance tracking, and child activity monitoring.
Established structured validation workflows covering functionality, performance, and stability, giving the founders confidence in every release.
Within six months, both apps were live on the App Store and Google Play, hitting every milestone along the way.
The partnership delivered:
